My name is Sydney Rumley. I am a Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP) and a 2023 graduate of Eastern Michigan University, where I received my M.S. in Clinical Behavioral Psychology. What that means is that I am a behavioral psychologist, and the foundation of the work that I do is based in how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and influence each other.
I primarily work with adolescents (13+), young adults, and adults who are struggling with eating disorders, body image, self-esteem, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship concerns/interpersonal conflicts, and ADHD/twice exceptional giftedness. I use techniques from evidence-based treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBIs), and Family-Based Treatment (FBT) to create a treatment plan tailored for a client's specific needs and goals.
In addition to my experience working in private practice, I previously worked in higher level eating disorder treatment, which offered outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) multidisciplinary treatment including nutrition counseling and medical management. I am a HAES informed, weight neutral provider who strives to make my clients feel comfortable and accepted. I welcome and accept clients from all different walks of life, and I offer both individual and couples therapy.
I look forward to working with you!
